Day 1

Pick-up in Alice Springs, straight out to The West MacDonnell Ranges (Toritja) for a day of walking and swimming our way through some of the most beautiful waterholes in the desert. Bushcamp somewhere south of Alice.

Day 2

Up early to head straight toward Uluru. Afternoon at The Rock, cultural talk, walk around The Rock followed by the famous Sunset. Camp at Yulara

Day 3

Sunrise at Kata-Tjuta during the "Valley of the winds" walk. My favorite place in the desert. Here we cover all the geological aspects of the National Park. Lunch back at Yulara, then onward to Kings Creek Station to set up camp.

Day 4

Straight to Kings Canyon first thing in the morning for the fabled "Rim walk". Helicopter rides optional. Back to camp for lunch, then off across the border for a bushcamp in South Australia.

Day 5

Wake up in the middle of the desert. A few hours down the highway we arrive in Coober Pedy. An afternoon of exploring the town, noodling for opals and touring through an old opal mine. Spend the night sleeping underground.

Day 6

Leave Coober Pedy, head south on the Stuart through salt lake country, and back into 'civilisation'. Spend the night at Stoney Creek camp in the Southern Flinders Ranges.

Day 7

A beautiful walk through Aligator Gorge near Wilmington. Followed by a leisurely lunch at Blesing Gardens Winery. A drive down the coast into the Adelaide Hills to arrive in Adelaide by 5pm.
